Van Gog bi danas bio veoma bogat covjek. Ta cinjenica zapanjuje ako se ima u vidu da je on tokom svog kratkog zivota bukvalno gladovao. Njegova zaostavstina se mjeri stotinama miliona dolara. Taj raskorak izmedju vrjednosti njegovog djela samo cetiri godine nakon smrti i tokom njegovog zivota, prosto zapanjuje. Prezren, neshvacen, ali fanaticno odan svom unutrasnjem pozivu, svjestan da mu nije ostalo puno vremena, on izbacuje sliku za slikom kao neka slikarska masina. Beskompromisno. Mozda je ta rjec formula za dosezanje i razumjevanje vrhunske umjetnosti. Ili je to samo stvar postenja...
