Tom Cooper FB rant :
....talking about people who prefer to believe what they want to believe: lets review behaviour of certain experts out there...
- Before 24 February 2022, all the Western military intelligence assessments were giving Ukraine between three days and three weeks in the face of a Russian invasion.
- ....so much so that because the FSB and the GRU have found out about such Western assessments, they confirmed Putin’s illusion that Ukraine is going to collapse within 3-14 days of a Russian invasion.
- …resulting in Putin (with Shoygu and Gerasimov) planning exactly such an operation of 3-14 days (as is confirmed by the documentation - written orders - captured on dead Russian VDV troops during the first days of the war).
- BTW, the mass of Western intelligence services (minus those of the USA, perhaps of the British too) also said the Russians are not going to invade.
- Indeed, the chief of the German BND almost got caught by the Spetsnaz & Rosgvardia assault into downtown Kyiv, on the first night of the war: he was there to explain to Zelensky that the Russians aren’t going to invade.
- ….along latest RUMINT from Kyiv, even Zelensky was in agreement that the Russians are not going to invade.
- …and ever since 25 February 2022, all the Western military intelligence assessments seem to agree in their conclusion that the condition of the Ukrainian armed forces is so catastrophic, that they are on the verge of total collapse – sometimes in between ‘now’ and ‘the next 2-3 weeks’.
- …primarily because there are days on which the Russians release more videos about them ‘winning the war’ than Ukrainians do, in the social media, and then because troops from not 5, but 15 different Ukrainian units have complained about their incompetent commanders wasting their lives, lack of supplies, corruption etc.
Well, perhaps there is a logical explanation for all of this? For example, it could be that the force of gravity - and thus few basic physical laws, including the flow of time - are different in the West than in Russia or Ukraine? That what is 3.5 months in the West is 3-14 days in Russia, and even less in Ukraine...?
And perhaps it's so that when Western intel assesses Ukrainians 'as short of a catastrophic collapse', and 'struggling with their counteroffensive', this actually means their counteroffensive in Kherson came forward 'only' some 8-10 kilometres yesterday, and resulted in liberation of Tavriyske?
...while the Russians achieved so much more by counterattacking into the Kinburn Peninsula - where there are no Ukrainian forces since March - as confirmed by videos taken by one of their UAVs that overflew the area....?
I'm looking forward to be taught a few lessons in this regards, by whoever is volunteering to do so.
Meanwhile, and because it looks like it's en vogue to sell preferences and beliefs as expertise, these days, permit me to do so, too: in my books, I prefer troops who dare publicly complaining about incompetent commanders, corruption, and a waste of life - to troops shooting their commanders in the back, driving over their feet or doing similar things.
Why?
Because I'm a weirdo and a nerd, preferring sincerity over the usual 'stab in the back' human behaviour (indeed: having hard times to cope with the later, all the time), and find that constructive critique is far more useful than boot-licking.
At least such troops are no idiots accepting fate and that their incompetent commanders are ready to waste them to earn another medal. Yes, I 'believe' such troops are much more useful in combat than the other way around.

Još deset sati do "nečega" na okupiranoj Ukrajinskoj zemlji.
Nadam se da će biti nešto od ovoga.
