Did the Early Church (1st-3rd centuries) believe in Jesus as God?
If so, what's the earliest example?
Some of them did, some of them did not. The early church had huge variations on "Jesus" "as" and "God."
There were early Christians who believed that Jesus was both divine and man. There were other Christians who said he was only divine, and the earthly parts were an illusion. Some other Christians said that the divine part had come into Jesus at baptism, and then left him on the cross (when he said "why have you forsaken me," specifically).
Some early Christians thought that there was only one God, and he was the God of the Hebrew Old Testament. Other Christians thought that the OT God was an evil entity, and that Jesus had been sent from a different, better God. Other early Christians thought there were hundreds of gods.
Before the various Councils hammered an Orthodoxy into and out of the various churches, Christianity was hugely varied, in ways that seem mind boggling to us now.
As historians have come to realize, during the first three Christian centuries, the practices and beliefs found among people who called themselves Christian were so varied that the differences between Roman Catholics, Primitive Baptists, and Seventh-Day Adventists pale by comparison.
Most of these ancient forms of Christianity are unknown to people in the world today, since they eventually came to be reformed or stamped out.
This quote, and much of what the rest of the comment is paraphrasing, are from Bart Ehrman's Lost Christianities, a good intro book that covers some of the varieties of belief in the early church.
