Jedna prekrasna knjiga koju sam nedavno kupila, nisam mogla odoliti...

Pokušat ću preskenirati nešto slika vezanih za Sarajevo, premda su dosta male, ne znam koliko će dobro skenovi ispasti.

Background: Yugoslavia's 160-million dollar (110-million pound) preparation for the 1984 Winter Olympics are nearing completion. The Games will centre on Sarajevo, a city of half a million people, and the biggest yet to host the event. Apart from a new village, media centre, ski tracks and related facilities, the Yugoslav government has even built a new terminal at the existing airport. An estimated 2,300 athlete are expected to compete his season. Twenty-four (15 mile) from Sarajevo is Mount Igman, which will be used for cross-country skiing, biathlon and ski-jumping. Two jump towers have been built; the cable car system and terraces are still under construction. The slopes of Mount Bjelasnica will be the site of the men's Alpine ski races for which a new skiing centre with two of the downhill courses, two for giant slalom and one for slalom are being prepared. The media centre will also be based at Mount Bjelasnica. Nearly five thousand journalists and camera crew members are expected. The klix Olympic village Dobrynja, differs from most other Olympic villages in that almost all visitors will be housed in private home which have been designed for alter use as permanent housing for Yugoslavs. Earlier this year the Yugoslav organising committee came under fire from the International Ski Federation which demanded improvements to the men's downhill course on Mount Bjelasnica. After pressure from the International Olympics Committee (IOC) the Sarajevo organisers gave assurances they would comply with the demands. They also made sure the IOC would approve their provisions for transporting the estimated 80 thousand visitors next year by upgrading their trolley system and supplementing three hundred buses already operating in the area. An Olympic ice stadium for figure skating and ice hockey already exists but a new training rink is being built.

That summit also agreed that their co-ordinating bureau should be strengthened and established at a permanent office in New York. Various broadcasting authorities were also represented at the conference.
