Question
sin2x=sin2*x=x*sin2
or
sin2x=sin(2x)
The unary math operation sine takes precedence over the binary math operation multiplication. However, 2x is a whole, an independent entity, and that is why 2x takes precedence over sine, because 2x means (2x). So sin2x=sin(2x).
But, a large number of amateurs and quasi-mathematicians still think that 6:2(1+2)=9. For mathematicians there is no doubt, 6:2(1+2)=1, because 2(1+2) is an independent whole and means 2(1+2)=(2(1+2)).
Ignorant people should not be allowed to teach. On the one hand, it is the fault of their teachers, who did not teach them, on the other hand, it is their fault, because they do not correct their ignorance.
How much is 8a:4a, everyone will answer 2, because 4a is an independent whole, an entity. No one will say 8a:4a=8*a:4*a=2a^2 because the order and priority of calculation operations should be respected. Therefore, 4a is (4a), the bracket should not be written because 4a is an independent unit, regardless of which sign of the calculation operation is in front. It's a mathematical rule that many people don't know about.
There are so-called pedagogical lies, where students of lower grades are told some truths that are not complete. In higher grades, students can understand a more complex form, so the previous truths are supplemented. Thus, some students in higher grades do not supplement the PEMDAS rule with the rule of wholes and sub-wholes of a mathematical expression, so they make a mistake like in the example from the picture.
