Rachel Getting Married is a 2008 Golden Globe nominated drama film directed by Jonathan Demme, and starring Anne Hathaway, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Debra Winger. The film was released in the U.S. to select theaters on October 3, 2008. The film opened in the 65th edition of the Venice Film Festival, where it was among twenty-one others films competing for the top prize, the Golden Lion. Other Hollywood films that competed include The Burning Plain, and The Wrestler, which later went on to win. The film also opened in Canada's Toronto Film Festival on September 6, 2008.
Plot
Kym (Anne Hathaway) returns home from rehab the day before her sister, Rachel (Rosemarie DeWitt), is getting married to Sidney (Tunde Adebimpe), a musician. Her arrival causes long-standing family tensions to rise to the surface.
