"BiH nas nikad nije pobijedila u Beogradu."Kezman says goal against Spain most important of career
MADRID, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Serbia & Montenegro striker Mateja Kezman says his equaliser against Spain on Wednesday was a career high point, as it took his country another step closer towards World Cup finals qualification.
The 1-1 draw kept Serbia & Montenegro at the top of Group Seven with two games left to play, and two points clear of second-placed Spain.
"It was a great game and a crucial result. It is the most important goal I have scored in my career," Kezman told Radio Marca.
Kezman diverted a Dejan Stankovic shot into the net midway through the second half after Spain had earlier threatened to swamp the Balkan side following Raul's first-half header.
With games away against Lithuania and at home to Bosnia still to come next month, Kezman remained confident his side could hang on to the top spot and automatic qualification.
"Three points against Lithuania are now vital for us," Kezman said. "The last game is against Bosnia. They have never beaten us in Belgrade so I am sure we are going to be in Germany next year."
Kezman scored in the 2-1 win over Lithuania last Saturday, as well as against Spain on Wednesday, but has yet to find the net for Atletico Madrid, who he joined from Chelsea in June.
Nagradno pitanje: Kada je BiH mogla pobijediti u Beogradu ako od sticanja nezavisnosti nikad nije igrala u BG?
