Two Phoenix men who had aided in the robbery of an armored vehicle on Friday outside Casino Arizona were caught at their homes early Saturday morning, the FBI said.
Bakir Mujkic, 57, and Adnan Alisic, 26, were booked into a Maricopa County jail and join 24-yearold Ismar Kabaklic, who was taken into custody Friday in Scottsdale, FBI and Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community officials announced.
FBI spokeswoman Deborah McCarley said the agency is working to determine if the robbers had weapons that were manufactured to resemble assault rifles.
“The one weapon I think a lot of the media saw the other day was actually plastic,” McCarley said. “It was not a true assault rifle.”
The money taken from the two armed guards was recovered, but McCarley wouldn’t disclose the amount due to the ongoing investigation. The cash had previously been reported as a “very large amount.”
McCarley said all three men were involved in the robbery. On Friday, authorities said that only two people robbed the guards.
The trio will make their initial court appearance today.
About 8:18 a.m. Friday, robbers in a Ford van pulled up behind two guards in a Bantek armored vehicle near the back of the casino at Talking Stick in the Salt River community.
The guards had finished loading cash from the vehicle onto a cart when the robbers dressed in black military-style outfits jumped out of their van and pulled guns on the guards. The robbers took the money and fled.
Scottsdale police spotted the van and began a pursuit Friday.
