a ako u regularnom dijelu nema pobjednika, onda pucaju penale.

Capacity: 19,100 (all seated)
City: Bucharest/Bucureşti (population - 1,93 million)
Opened: 1939
Condition: average
Tenant: FC Rapid Bucureşti;
Normal attendances: 6,000-16,000 (when fully open)
Giulesti - Valentin Stanescu Stadium is the home of Rapid Bucharest. It's name comes from the neighborhood where it is situated - Giulesti, in the north-west of the city, and the name of former Rapid player and prominent managerial figure - Valentin Stanescu. However most know simply as Giulesti Stadium. Also fittingly for the stadium of a team with a long time association with the Romanian Railways it is situated next to the dense rail lines which lead into the largest rail station in Bucharest.
Completed in 1939, the stadium's design was based on that of Highbury, but on a smaller scale. At the time it was considered the most modern stadium in Romania. For more than half a century the stadium had only one end, giving it a "U" shape which led to it being nicknamed "Potcoava" (The Horseshoe). In the mid '80s a small stand was built on the remaining open end; in the mid '90s this stand was replaced with a new structure in keeping with the design of the rest of the stadium, bringing the total capacity to 19,100. One of the important features of the area - Grant Bridge, which overpasses the rail lines, gives the stadium another nickname: Stadionul de sub Podul Grant (The Stadium under Grant Bridge). In early 2000s the stadium finally received a floodlight system housed by four tall tubular steel pylons.
The South-West stand is the Main Stand at Giulesti Stadium and is the only part of the stadium with a roof; however this roof only covers the mid part of the stand which contains the VIP and press facilities. The opposing stand is higher than the rest of the stadium, making it the largest section of the stadium. The newest part of the stadium, the north-west end, is the home end where Rapid's main support, the ultras, usually sits. The opposing end, part of the original "horseshoe", is where the away fans would usually be seated. However a couple of years ago structural problems were discovered and have yet to be resolved; this means a good part of the stadium has been closed, including the original end stand. This translates into just over 10,000 seats being now open to the public. The away fans now sit in a sector that has been temporarily reopened. With rumors that the stadium will be demolished and replaced by a modern 30,000 seat stadium it is unclear if the remaining closed sections will be reopened. Still one addition has recently been made - at the base of the old end a new video scoreboard has been installed, in addition to the old electric scoreboard located at the home end.
In terms of atmosphere Giulesti Stadium has always been one of the best in the country. However with the stadium reduced to just over half of its capacity the overall feel of a match at Giulesti has been affected. Still the home fans can create a good atmosphere, superior to what most other clubs can produce, even with the reduced capacity. Before the stadium was partly closed one could expect crowds of 9-10,000 at average league matches, with capacity crowds at derbies and European Cup matches. On a personal note I have to admit that the atmosphere at the Rapid-Steaua UEFA Cup quarter-final a few years ago was amazing; Giulesti at its best could easily rival stadiums twice as large in terms of atmosphere.Update: the new scoreboard has been moved in place of the old scoreboard, behind the home end.
