#1 Americka razmisljanja o muslimanskoj 'solidarnosti'

Hi Everyone,
My discussion thread from yesterday seemed at best to be mis understood, and at worst.... Hijacked by others (see Who's helping Tsunami Victims" Jan 2nd. I was in no instance comparing the US to any other country. My question was... and still is:
"Where are the Muslim countries when it comes to supporting Indonesia(a predominantly Muslim country)during this time of crisis?"
That was my initial question and concern, and it appears that some respondents felt the need to launch into pro American / Anti American /Pro Tsunami victims and the "let 'em eat cake" crowd. Worse than that, I was troubled to see people start to flame others for what appear to be heartfelt convictions, something that I'm not used to seeing here. I DID however, read everyone's comments. Thanks for participating!
Virtually anyone with a conscience is concerned about the dead and dying, and the abject suffering of the victims of this natural disaster. My question is still:
Other than Saudi Arabia (10 million dollars US) and Egypt ($81 THOUSAND dollars US)..... where is the help from the other Muslim nations? Qatar? UAE? Kuwait? Iran, et al? I'm sure that you can name others.... Australia? Helping. US? UK? Helping. Japan? China? Helping. Other Eastern European and Western nations? Helping. France? oh well... (couldn't resist THAT one, don't flame me please!! I think they donated $35 thousand)
So... if you know of any Muslim countries helping on their own, without the Red Crescent, please let me know? And oh yeah.... try not to hijack the thread with missives about how screwed up the world is? We already know that.
Thanks,
Crazy8s

the muslim countries will help the indonesians as much as they help their brethren, the palestinians ... NADA! they never put their money where their mouth is. the truth is, they don't give a rat's asss.

Hello dude what’s up?
Lemme first answer your question. Yeah, the non-Muslim world gave proportionally more aid money, including “infidel” America as well. In addition, I think US navy also sent two warships to aid and assist allocation of relief to the victims. Why that is case and why some of more prominent Muslim countries (read monetary healthier) did not help as much the religious and humane “responsibility” obliged them… I don’t have a clue.
Maybe some of them are more interested in aiding and abetting various terrorist groups than following Quran’s teaching on solidarity.
Now, lemme tell you something else. If you are truly a foreigner, I advise you to leave this forum as you will not be able to pursue the answers nor discussions you are looking for due to few reasons. One of which is language (though many of us here in deed speak this beautiful language) for example.
Best of luck and thanks for stopping by…

The "oil" money will always follow the arabian standard route: from one pocket to another. Some lucky indonesian will pick up cash from one of the Saudi's bagmen, pass a portion to the usual suspects in Jakarta, and pocket the difference.
And anyone who thinks this will not be a case, well... I have a few acres of permafrost in northern Ontario. Call me!

LET THE GRINGOS PAY! Empires are a costly enterprise. No oil profits will cover the costs of Bush's ventures and adventures. I am sure that this tsunami is the last thing the US budget needed. US goodwill for the tsunami victims? Yeah...to cover up the decades of BAD WILL, just about everywhere else. Osama is really making them PAY. (to the point where they are bickering with each other over insufficient $$ for the tsunami victims, right on prime time national TV). Finally, they really have to put their money where their mouth is.
Since when is the "Moslem" world a political and social monolith? Am I a part of some kind of "shadow" society...or a "para" socio-political entity?
Of course...we have become "Moslem" when threatened with extermination..but in the absence of such a threat...Islam is hardly a sole determinant of our identity.

I sta sad?

P.S. "le¾ernost" u upotrebi engleskoj jezika me stvarno nasmijala...
