Hello,

at first sorry for writing english here. I've just started learning the bosnian language and my czech doesnt help to much, I see.
Well, we are going to move to Sarajevo in september and want to visit the city in may, from may 9th-14th.
We would like to avoid hotels and prefer private accomodation. Maybe someone knows an aunt or similar who offers a room for two?
We are travelling with our two children, 2 and 20 months old, but we dont need extra beds for them.
Can someone help?

Lieber Clemens,

in Sarajevo kann man doch relativ günstige Unterkünfte finden. Da du mit Familie kommst ist es sicherlich komfortabler wenn ihr in ein Hostel oder Pansion geht.
Hier schon mal ein Link wo du ruhig durchstöbern kannst bezüglich Unterkunft und anderen kleinen Details die dich vielleicht interessieren könnten.

I really don't know about any private accommodation in Sarajevo where you would be able to rent a room for such short period of time.

If you don't find anything, please send me private message and I will send you a list of hostels, pretty cheap but nice, in the center of Sarajevo, which I would recommend. A few months ago I did a small research on my own of these hostels, I went to rooms, checked how clean were bathrooms etc, and there are some to which I wouldn't mind taking my kids.

soba.ba war bislang der beste Tipp, ich weiss nur nicht, ob da meine Buchungsanfrage per Email auch weitergeleitet/gelesen wird.
Andererseits waeren wir auch mit wirklich einem Zimmer in einem Privathaus (evt Kellerwohnung oder so etwas) zufrieden, so wie wir das vor 5 Jahren schon einmal in Sarajevo gefunden haben. Da gab es eine Vermittlungsagentur, war in der Naehe der Hauptpost.

soba.ba was the best hint, but Im not sure they will get my request via email, lets see. Besides apartmani we would be fully happy with just a room in a house somewhere a bit away from the center. Five years ago there was room agency next to the main post office that organized a room for us at a privat house maybe 1,5km away from bascarsija, I think it was in the Bjelave quarter. Now, we are again looking for that kind of accomodation.

es gibt viele wohnungen welche eingerichtet zu vermieten sind (leere wohnung geht auch)........ ihr zahlt in diesem fall die miete und die nebenkosten.......werdet ihr hier arbeiten oder ist da so etwas wie goodbye deutschland was zur zeit bei RTL zu sehen ist.....ausserdem konnte ich die zeitung mit den anzeigen am freitag kaufen und euch schreiben was fuer wohnungen und wo vermitet werden

Jara asked me, if we just needed accomodation now in may or also in september. I answered him that we are (besides other reasons) to Sarajevo to take look at a house we have been offered. Nevertheless having other options wouldnt be bad. So, if someone has a house in Sarajevo he wants to rent to us from september onwards, let me know. We are looking for something with at least 4 rooms and preferably a garden. A garage wouldnt hurt, too. (for the motorbikes, of course)


Jara hat mich gefragt, ob wir nur Unterkunft fuer jetzt Mai oder auch fuer September suchen. Wir reisen nach Sarajevo, weil wir uns ein Haus ansehen wollen, dass wir mieten wollen. Aber andere Angebote waeren nicht falsch. Wir suchen nach einem Haus in SA mit Garten und wenn möglich einer Garage (für die Motorräder, natürlich).

Wir kommen nicht zum Fernsehschauen, aber ich glaube ich kenne die Sendung auf RTL. Nein, wir wollen nicht aus Deutschland weg, weil wir es nicht mehr hier aushalten. Es ist schon recht nett hier. Aber fuer uns ZU nett, wir suchen Abwechslung. Ausserdem denken wir, dass unsere Kinder nicht mit Bayrisch aufwachsen sollten, eine echte Fremdsprache wäre viel besser. Wir wohnen derzeit in Bayern.
Meine Frau wird ab September an der Uni arbeiten, sie wird Deutschkurse geben. Ich kuemmere mich bis naechstes Jahr um die Kinder und werde dann auch nach einer Arbeit suchen. Was in zwei Jahren sein wird, wissen wir noch nicht, so lange wollen wir aber in jedem Fall bleiben.

We are leaving Germany because my wife got a job at the University, she is going to teach german there. So for the next year I will stay home with the kids. Next year I will look for work, too. We are excited what will come next, and we are really looking forward to it. We plan to stay in SA at least for two years.

Just a friendly notice - inform yourself into great detail regarding Bosnian employment laws and how to get work permits - that is if you're intending to look for a job outside of NGOs and other foreign agencies... It is nearly impossible to obtain a work permit through "normal" channels, because the unemployment rate in the country is very high and the government is reluctant to provide work permits. Naturally, there are loop holes that can be utilized in some cases...

Hostels are really cheap in Sarajevo, they are not more expensive than private accommodation, prices very from 12-13 to 20 €. That means in the worst case 200€ for all of you (I think you don't have to pay for two children till 2 yrs). Anyway, good luck and have a nice time in Sarajevo. Be careful about working permit, sometimes it's impossible to get it.

Ni jedan hotel u SA (osim Radon Plaze) ne naplaćuje krevetac za malu djecu, tako da on zna šta traži...
Zaintrigirala si me ovim cijenama - 12-20 € po osobi u hotelima... đe to ima?

Rekao sam hostel, a ne hotel... Pogledaj malo bolje .

hey... trazim smjestaj u Sarajevu za 5 tjedana. Imate kakve savjete?

Jel zna ko gdje ima smjestaj (pansion,hostel) blizu zeljeznicke stanice u Sarajevu?
