Sta misle ostali?
Occasional problems on this vehicle, 4-cylinder engines only, are failures of the Timing Belt and Mass Air Flow Sensor. A periodic problem on this vehicle is failure of the Vacuum Hoses. A periodic failure on this vehicle, 6-cylinder only, is the failure of the Water Pump. Failure of the Water Pump may result in engine overheating. The cost to repair the Timing Belt is $28.00 for parts and $117.00 for labor on gasoline engines and $63.00 for parts and $227.00 for labor on diesel engines. The cost to repair the Mass Air Flow Sensor is $380.00 for parts and $65.00 for labor. Volkswagen has issued a warranty extension due to the high number of Mass Air Flow failures. Mass Air Flow sensors are now warranted for 7 years, 70,000 miles on 1999 through 2001. The cost to repair the Vacuum Hoses is $25.00 for parts and $65.00 for labor. The cost to repair the Water Pump is estimated at $ 81.00 for parts and $208.00. All prices are estimates based on $65 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable sales tax.
Cons:
i have spent so much on repairs i am living off of bagels and the burger king 99 cent menu.
Have had little time to enjoy how well the car handles as right now if it starts I am afraid to drive it because the car will act like a Mexican Jumpimg Bean for no apparent reason. Seems like the only time I "enjoy" driving this vehicle is to take it to the shop... if it starts.
I have spent so many hours in the VW Service waiting area that my name should be on the work schedule.
If you see this car, run from it.
I do try to love my car, but it has become unbearable living at the dealership for repairs on a 4 year old car for the past 4 years!
A maintenance nightmare!!! After the warranty went off the car self destructed.........almost forgot the piece of muffler that fell off and punched a hole in the gas tank. that was great...
. I don't trust my car with my life right now or anyone elses.
This car is a money pit. I don't even want to sell it. I will put it in my driveway, and charge people $1 a swing to crush it with a sledgehammer
