Liverpool's management, including coach Arne Slot, have been in contact with Florian Wirtz's side for months - their interest was by no means a short-term one.
Wirtz is said to have been hugely impressed by the atmosphere at Anfield when Leverkusen visited in November, the environment and the club itself, according to people close to the player - far more than he was impressed by a trip to Munich.
Even though his father Hans is said to have favored a move to FC Bayern at some point, which is why belief in the transfer prevailed in Munich until a few days ago, Wirtz decided to join LFC for sporting reasons: they outlined a "masterplan" for him - highly professional, competetively appealing, extremely appreciative and, above all, absolutely focused on his development.

Ma to, dok mi kontamo sta cemo i kako cemo, Slot ima razradjen plan vec mjesecima. Nevjerovatno!
Zbog svog stava, Slot i novim transferima potencijalnim pristupa na ovaj način. Možda je to razlog zašto ekspresno dolaze Frimpong, Kerkez i Wirtz, a ni maj nije prošao.
