Serb militia members hold a black flag with a skull and cross bones during a demonstration against the Dayton peace agreement in the Serb-held Sarajevo neighborhood of Grbavica Thursday, December 7, 1995. Five thousand Serbs in Grbavica protested the peace accord that would give their district to their enemies across the river. Nobody knows if they'll really fight, run, or give in to the approaching NATO army aiming to enforce the peace.

Bosnian Serbs check lists of names of people given permission and scheduled to travel to and from the Bosnian government side of Sarajevo via the Brotherhood and Unity Bridge at a police station in the Bosnian Serb suburb of Grbavica Monday Jan. 22, 1996. Police forces on both sides of Sarajevo draw up lists of residents wishing to visit the other side and these lists are usually passed on through a local liason, a system that has been in practice since 1993.
