Mozgov je bio centar Denvera veći dio treće četvrtine, kasnije je centra igrao Hickson, koji je do tada igrao na četvorci. Nurkić je u drugom poluvremenu ušao nekih 8 : 40 minuta do kraja utakmice i nije više ni izlazio iz igre.

- Odigrao odličnu odbranu na Griffinu, natjerao ga na izgubljenu loptu.

- Vodio nešto grublji duel ispod protivničkog koša sa Deandre Jordanom, sudije su nešto svirale, komentatori su spominjali i tehničku nekome. Bezveze ako su je zaista nekom od njih i svirali.

- Odličan u defanzivnom skoku, poslije jednog skoka mu je Paul ukrao loptu ali uz faul, Paul je burno protestovao kod sudija zbog toga što su svirali taj faul.

- Faulirao ga Deandre Jordan pa je dobio dva slobodna, pogodio je oba puta.

- Dok Nurkić pokušava ukrasti loptu bekovima Clippersa, Griffin neometan zakucava ispod koša. Izgleda da je ponio sa sobom naviku iz Cedevite da mu nekad dosadi da čuva visoke igrače pa pređe ne bekove.

- Ponovno pokušava čuvati beka daleko od koša, rezultat je da je napravio faul na šutu za tri poena Crawforda i omogućio mu 3 slobodna bacanja.

- Već drugi put u zadnjoj četvrtini upisuje asistenciju za Farieda.

- Pokušao šut sa poludistance, promašio.




Na kraju pobjeda Denvera 104 : 93.

Nurkić 4 poena, 9 skokova, 2 asistencije, 2 blokade, 2 ukradene lopte.

Ako je suditi po večerašnjoj utakmici, Mozgov je prvi centar, a Nurkić i Hickson(koji primarno igra na poziciji četiri) će ga mijenjati. To je dok se McGee ne oporavi, onda ćemo vidjeti kako će raspodjeliti minute. Nurkić igra dobro, upao je u rotaciju, Shaw je trener koji kvalitetno radi sa centrima, nema razloga za brigu sve i da Jusuf u prvoj sezoni i ne dobije neku ogromnu minutažu. Možda je tako i bolje, da ne pregori.

The Denver Nuggets and Los Angles Clippers played a game Saturday that was televised on NBA TV. Because it appeared on national television (unlike most of the Nuggets’ preseason games) I decided to do a small recap, or rather publish a list of notes I made in chronological order as the game played out — which you can find below…

— For the umpteenth time, why in the hell does the NBA start games at 7:30 PST? Absolutely nobody east of Nevada who holds a regular 9-to-5 job can stay up for these. And to answer your question — yes, I will continue to complain incessantly about this. Always and forever.

— Ralph Lawler has to be the worst in-game announcer in the NBA. Why he’s referring to Mozgov as “Moschgof,” I have absolutely no idea. Then of course there are his catchphrases, so avuncular — consisting of gems like “Bingo!,” “Oh me, oh my!” and “Fasten your seat belts!” — that I’m convinced he’s going to magically show up at my dinner table this Thanksgiving robotically slurring these banalities while my mother convinces me, “No, Kalen, trust me — this truly is your long-lost uncle! His name is Ralph; please make him feel welcome.” At which point I will search out the nearest steak knife to end my existence.

— How on God’s green earth is Hickson in before Arthur? HOW?!?!?!?! This is just not right. Not at all. It doesn’t make sense. My brain refuses to accept this as reality. I guess this is just one of those things — George Karl had many — that makes absolutely zero sense, which fans will simply have to accept — unfortunately, painfully, resentfully… Damnit.

— Nurkic’s passes are kind of insane for a big man. His man defense is also kind of insane. In fact, watching this game unfold — wtih specific regard to his individual performance — is kind of insane. He’s all over the place. He’s blocking shots, getting deflections, boxing out like Shaq in his prime, moving his feet on defense, blocking Blake Griffin, throwing ridiculous point-guardesque passes to Hickson in the post. Wait… what in the hell is happening? What is happening??? IS THIS REAL!?!?! YOU MEAN THE TERMINATOR IS ACTUALLY A GOOD GUY NOW AND HE’S ON THE NUGGETS!?!?!?! *Brain proceeds to combust, then ooze, spilling slowly over onto the floor.*

— This Nuggets bench is gonna be F-U-N this winter. They’ve come in and totally dominated the Clippers bench. It’s not even a contest anymore.

— More Nurkic: His feet are crazy fast. It’s not normal. It’s almost, dare I say — unfair?

— And even more Nurkic: According to Ol’ Ralph, Shaw says Nurkic is gonna get some playing time this year. At this point, he’s on track for a lot more than that.

— Gallinari looks… like Gallinari. Like he hasn’t missed a step since going down with an injury a year and a half ago. This, I estimate, is a good thing.

— To buy tickets to Clippers games you literally log on to http://www.clippers.com/lobcity — which pretty much confirms the widely held suspicion that the Clippers will never, ever, ever, win a championship.

— Gary Harris looks like a rookie, a typical “This game is entirely too fast for me at this stage of my life” type of rookie. He’ll eventually settle into the speed of the NBA but in the meantime he needs to shoot more — get all those bad shots out of his system — and then shoot some more after that.

— Nurkic is back in along with his hyper-enthusiastic dominion, which consists of, again: steals, deflections, monster rebounds, Marc Gasolesque passes, perimeter defensive stands against the best point guard in the NBA — you know, the norm. He does foul a lot though…

— OK, so at least Ol’ Ralph agrees about Nurkic, saying, “He’s got a presence about him from a 20 year old you wouldn’t expect to find.” BINGO!!!

— As the buzzer sounds Quincy Miller has yet to play. Everyone else on the roster played at least a few minutes… except for Miller. This cannot be seen as optimistic regarding his chances of making the final roster. At this point, Gee looks like a much better option. He’s an established NBA player who has springs, can play really impressive defense and has a position on the floor. It’s sad to say but at this point I think Quincy Miller might be on the verge of leaving the Nuggets, the team that drafted him, the only team he’s ever played for in his entire NBA career. I guess we’ll find out soon enough…

Nisam ja bio planirao..
Mislio sam Nurkić ce biti ok, al' daleko da ce dobit neke minute prvih 10 utakmica..
A decko je izdominirao bukvalno ove utakmice i imace neku malu minutazu 100 %..

Imao je povredu koljena prije sad već skoro 4 godine, mislim da mu je to pravilo problem i ovo ljeto jer je preveliko opterećenje zbog težine, trener mu je prije dvije tri sedmice izjavio da je Juka na 295 funti trenutno...

McGee bi nakon višemjesečne pauze zbog povrede trebao nastupiti ako ne protiv Portlanda, onda u sledećoj protiv Golden State. Vidio sam da dosta Amerikanaca predviđa da bi ga u Denveru mogli forsirati kako bi nabio brojke a onda ga trejdovali(što bude imao bolje brojke, dobit će boljeg igrača u zamjenu) kako bi otvorili prostor za Nurkića. McGee ima jedan od najvećih ugovora u Denveru, za ovu i narednu sezonu zaradit će skoro 25 miliona dolara. I on i Mozgov su dosta pohvalno pričali o Jusufu.

Osim što se McGee tek vraća poslije teške povrede, izgleda da Hickson propušta prvih 5 utakmica sezone radi neke suspenzije. Nurkić će na početku sezone baš imati minuta, on i Mozgov će manje - više sami iznijeti poziciju centra u prvih 5 utakmica(od kojih je zadnja spektakl protiv Clevelanda).
