Zakon je H.B. 2127 (puni tekst zakona
https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/88R/b ... 02127F.pdf) kojim se ukidaju lokalna gradska pravila koja postoje u Austinu i Dallasu, a koja nalazu da radnici na gradjevini svaka 4 sata moraju imati pauzu od 10 minuta da se sklone sa sunca i napiju vode. Rezultat je (naravno) lobiranja udruzenja gradjevinskih firmi. Ta lokalna pravila su donesena jer su najmanje 42 gradjevinca u 10 godina umrla od posljedica vrucine u Teksasu.
Ko nije bio ljeti u Teksasu, razumijem da mu zvuci smijesno, ali bas i nije.
Izrabljivanje ljudi, dakako, nije smješno. Čudi me da se takve stvari dešavaju u SAD-u.
Borba dakle države Teksas protiv odluka jedinica lokalne samouprave.
A Chapter 1, Labor Code, is amended by adding
Section 1.005 to read as follows:
Sec.A1.005.AA PREEMPTION. (a) Unless expressly authorized
by another statute, a municipality or county may not adopt,
enforce, or maintain an ordinance, order, or rule regulating
conduct in a field of regulation that is occupied by a provision of
this code. An ordinance, order, or rule that violates this section
is void, unenforceable, and inconsistent with this code.
(b)AA For purposes of Subsection (a), a field occupied by a
provision of this code includes employment leave, hiring practices,
breaks, employment benefits, scheduling practices, and any other
terms of employment that exceed or conflict with federal or state
law for employers other than a municipality or county.
Ne znam šta im kaže ovaj Zakon o radu u vezi pauza i vode.
A štrajkač kaže:

Bajdenova administracija je dakle na potezu, samo Predsjednik sa ljetovanja da se vrati, da donese zakon i postavi standarde da jadni ljudi prestanu umirati od vrućine na radnom mjestu širom SAD-a.
