Here’s my review for the last 24 hours (20 Mar 22).

Not much to report today, and I do not want to get dragged into another of – literal millions – of pointless discussions about ‘sports and cooking’ (i.e. geo-politics regarding this crisis) any more.
STRATEGIC
There’s no end of rumours about Putin pressing Lukashenko for Belarus to invade western Ukraine. Me thinks, this is a similar ‘Maskirovka’ like ‘amphibious assault on Odessa’: aimed to tie down Ukrainian reserve in the West. Similar is valid for RIA Novosti’s releases along which the Russian forces are ‘advancing’ from Transnistria into south-western Ukraine.
Hard on the heels of reports about arrival of another 200 combatants ‘from Syria’, there are now reports about the Russian Wagner PMC recruiting Libyans for fighting in Ukraine. This is from a US source, so I’m sceptical: two thirds of Haftar's 'army' consist of jihadists, Sudanese and whatever other mercenaries he's able to attract, and they're of next to no combat value at all.
NORTH
The last evening, the Keystone Cops in Moscow claimed to have flown another ‘super-precise hypersonic missile attack’ – this time on Kyiv. Is another lie: was ‘just’ a ballistic missile – probably Tochka (‘SS-21 Stone’) - that completely demolished the Retroville Shopping Centre in north-western Kyiv. Arguably, the Kinzhal is little else but a MiG-31-released (i.e.: air launched) Tochka, but, and foremost: it’s one of Putin’s show-weapons. Something to brag about ‘Russian high-technology’ on the TV. Keep in mind: there’s no point in wasting time and precious MiG-31s (VKS needs them for the defence of the huge airspace of Siberia) to do something a ground-launched system can do.
Just how desperate to demonstrate deployment of ‘super-modern weapons’ to its own public the Keystone Cops in Moscow meanwhile are is obvious from deployment of several other systems of similar nature. For example, the sole prototype of the T-80UM2 Black Hawk tank is confirmed as destroyed by the Ukrainians. The RT then ‘reacted’ by releasing a video shown an UPAB-500B satellite-guided 500kg glide bomb as installed on a Su-35 fighter-bomber. Curiously, the same video did not contain even the usual take of that Su-35 then taking off while carrying the weapon and returning without it….. Once again: reality is that the VKS is critically short on PGMs. Not only that Russia has next to no production facilities, know-how and technologies necessary to manufacture these, but their PGMs are also too complex and thus expensive to make (no modular designs like ‘add-on’ kits for the US-designed Mk.80-series of bombs), and thus Putin, Shoygu & Co KG GesmbH AG never cared to pay for them. Indeed, I doubt the Russians have released more than 50-60 PGMs in three weeks of war (including those fired by their UAVs). Of those spent in combat the mass consisted of 30(+)-years old Kh-31 anti-radar missiles (‘AS-17 Krypton’) – all fired by the same group (perhaps 4-5 in total) of senior Su-34- and Su-35-pilots.
Inside Kyiv: what was originally a ‘battalion’ of Canadian Ukrainians is meanwhile a 550-strong ‘Canadian Ukrainian Brigade’. I’m mentioning it to point out: this is deployed in the Kyiv area. Means: please ignore any kind of claims about its presence in Mariupol.
South-west of Kyiv, the Ukrainians reported the complete destruction of the 331st VDV Regiment of the RFA. Apparently, both the CO and XO were killed, as were all the troops down to one or two captured in badly wounded condition. Seems, the unit in question was the one deployed for advance on Bila Tserkva, around the third or fourth day of the war; then it was cut off and then destroyed by the Ukrainians in days-long battles in the area south-east of Yasnohordka area.
NORTH-EAST & EAST
Small Ukrainian units active along the roads in north-eastern and eastern Ukraine are continuing to interdict supply convoys. Meanwhile, they’re increasingly using mines instead of rocket-propelled grenades or guided anti-tank weapons, though (attached photo is shown a Tor SAM-system ('SA-15 Gauntlet') destroyed by a mine.
Similarly, while in the first days of the war we could still see at least a few videos shown such convoys being guided and protected by marshaling vehicles and Ka-52 attack helicopters, the Russians obviously do not have enough of these to support all of their columns any more.
The Ukrainians have repelled another Russian attack into southern Izium. There are no details, though.
SOUTH
Yesterday, Russian forces besieging Mariupol have given a deadline by 0500hrs this morning, for the Ukrainians to surrender the city. Supposedly, all the residents and troops who lay down arms would be free to leave: anybody left behind would be considered ‘bandits’ and face a ‘military tribunal’. As explained several times already: this is the Russian ‘standard procedure’, seen in Aleppo before.
Unsurprisingly, the Mayor of Mariupol told them to (quote), ‘go fuck yourself’.
In the Mykolaiv area, the Russians claim their 58th CAA to have reached the outskirts of Kryvyi Rih (again). AFAIK, they might have taken Kochurevka and Zahradivka, two days ago (these are about 40km south of the city), and might have pushed on Mala Shestirnya (30km south of Kryvyi Rih), yesterday, but all one gets to see from that area are knocked-out or destroyed T-72B3s, MT-LBs, BTR-80s and MSTA howitzers of the 20th GMRD.

I svi ovi gubici sigurno odzvanjaju širom vojnih struktura u Rusiji. Šta li se sad odvija u njihovim glavama.

Prilikom demontaže objekata spasioci su izvukli obitelj poginulih 5 osoba. Među njima je 3 djece, dječak i djevojčica blizanaca od 3 godine, 12 godina starija sestra i njihovi roditelji.

Poginuli su od posljedica neprijateljskog zračnog napada

The Black Eagle project was formally cancelled in 2001. Development of the Black Eagle was stopped due to financial problems, questions about the reliability of the design and, most importantly, the terrible performance of the T-80, upon which it was modeled, in the first Chechen war.
