The fictional Tarzan is a great example of the stereotypical male with his initial dialogue composed of grunts and groans. He was literally worlds apart from Jane, but had the ability to communicate his love for her through his affections. Fast forward to reality, and this type of behavior is still present within our society. It stems from how the traditional man is raised to be the solid, strong backbone for his family, and doesn't necessarily need to rely on words to get his message across. With gender roles in motion, a man will generally not be teary eyed and become a blubbering mess when you want to talk to him about feelings. He will entertain this discussion with you nonetheless, but a man who truly cares about you and who loves you endlessly, will show you how he feels, and that in itself, speaks volumes.
