Although Napoli are on the verge of winning their first Serie A title in over 30 years, some Partenopei fans are causing concern for Luciano Spalletti and Aurelio De Laurentiis and risk spoiling their long-awaited party, writes Lorenzo Bettoni.

Spalletti was fuming at San Siro on Wednesday night after Napoli’s 1-0 loss over Milan in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. He wasn’t only unhappy with the result or some referee’s decisions but also sent a clear message to Napoli fans.

“We are winning the championship after 33 years of waiting. We were playing an important match and seeing that all against all – ‘tutti contro tutti’ – again is something I’ll never be able to understand and that I’ll always carry with me,” he said at a post-match press conference.

“If the same thing happens during the return leg, I’ll leave the bench and go home. Because it’s something inexplicable.”

What was Spalletti referring to? Napoli had also lost the previous meeting with the Rossoneri in Serie A, slipping to a surprising 4-0 loss at the Stadio Maradona on April 2.

On that day, the Partenopei didn’t receive the usual push from their home fans who remained silent for most of the game, except when they started insulting President De Laurentiis towards the end when two ultras groups were seen clashing in the Curva.

Napoli ultras are unhappy with the increase in ticket prices for the return leg against Milan and some restrictions placed by local authorities and the club, especially following clashes between Napoli and Roma ultras on the A1 highway in January.

For this reason, they didn’t support the team in their last home game with Milan and the same could happen also in the next league matches.

This has caused concern for Spalletti and everyone at the club, starting from captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo who has urged Partenopei supporters to provide the usual push when Milan return to Naples next week.

“Fans have to understand that they must come to the stadium to support the team. Today I’ll meet the Interior Minister, hoping to find a solution,” added President De Laurentiis on Thursday, hours after Napoli’s loss to Milan.

The paradox for Napoli would be to see their long-awaited Scudetto celebrations spoiled by a minority of fans who are against De Laurentiis and the way he’s managed the club.

The Partenopei’s fanbase is known to be one of the most passionate in the world, let alone in Italy, and Spalletti and his team deserve to enjoy the irreplaceable atmosphere at the Stadio Maradona against Milan next week, but also later in the season when they will predictably lift the third Scudetto trophy in the club’s history.

Prolaze Manchester City, Inter, Milan i Real.
Manchester City i Inter će to rutinski privesti kraju.

Koju utakmicu gledati? U obzir još dolaze i Millwall - Birmingham City i Sheffield United - Bristol City.

I navijaci ce im trebati.

Madrid zna sebi zakomplikovati ovakve utakmice, nece biti bas jednostavno
