There is a special history with Sarajevo and myself since the first time I came and played there about 14 years ago, shortly after the war, some of you might still remember.
I think music and especially Techno is there to unite and build bridges between different religious, ethnic and cultural groups and in the best instance even transcend these. Groups that were fighting each other, finding their way back together on the dancfloor. Sounds like a fairy tale, but I saw that happen right there. Sadly the conditions for having parties like that are not always achieved.
The Fans in Sarajevo didn't deserve the party that happened last night! Bad sound and location (a freezing cold and close to collapsing Warehouse), A technical setup that did not allow me to perform the way I wanted to. No promises kept, not to mention the rest (don't get me started on my personal stuff). I don't wanna get lost in details here or give you the Idea that I am complaining about myself, which I don't.
Anyways, we all live and learn. So maybe now you understand why I only showed up to play for an hour. I did that because you came out to have the best possible time and not to justify the actions by the promoter (even if his intentions are generally good). But I also have my limits of what I am willing to do, so it ended up only being an hour of playtime (did I mention the police that ordered the already low volume to be lowered even more). The Issues with the parties I had in the past two years and especially yesterday, make me wonder how to continue that "Sarajevo thing".... Thanks for all the Love and support over the last years, it has always been appreciated wishing you all the best and hopefully better parties in the future. keep dancing and losing yourself in sound.
