Moj beznacajni doprinos temi, vezano za moju struku tj. Šumarstvo.
Šumarstvo u BiH tek u ovom periodu dobiva značajniji zamah. Dotada se šuma isključivo iskorištavala "za potrebe domaćinstva" na najprimitivniji način.
U ovom periodu se grade željeznice, ulaže se u infrastrukturu prije svega pilane. Sve, nažalost s jednim ciljem, da se iz BiH a za potrebe većih sila izvuče njeno najveće bogatstvo - šuma.
U cijeloj priči oko uništavanja šuma najveću ulogu ima Benjamin Kalaj.
Stručnjaci sa Šumarskog fakulteta u Sarajevu a prije svega prof. Matić zbog prekomjerne eksploatacije šume kasnije rade I inventuru šuma na velikim površinama u BiH.
P. S. Nisam siguran, a ne da mi se sad istraživati, da se supruga Benjamina Kalaja zvala Marija, te da joj je on sagradio vilu u centru Sarajeva. Taj dio grada je u narodu prozvan Marijin dvor ilitiga Marin Dvor :-D

Mala ispravka...nije na Drini nego na Neretvi, tačnije stotinjak metara uzvodno od današnjeg mosta na Aleksinom Hanu. Ova dva mosta i dan danas postoje ali su 50ak metara pod vodom grabovickog jezera.
