Taj sajt drze neki Makedonci iz Berlina ako se ne varam i mozes da skidas pesmu po pesmu sa tog sajta. Ima sva tri studijska albuma Synthesis. Dva su pod D jer su tada bili DD Synthesis, a jedan je pod S (nakon sto je Dragan Dautovski otisao nisu vise DD). Btw ako imas nesto video materijala za razmenu imam originalan DVD Synthesis sa Makeodnskom filharmonijom plus neke snimke iz Australije.

Molim vas ako neka ima ovih trenutno aktuelnih obrada, recimo cula sam obrade Metallice u country stilu, pa neke obrade stranih rock bendova u izvedbi nekih Turaka, ima li neko nesto tako, evo nekih imena:
Dolapadere Big Gang, Hayseed Dixie, pa recimo nesto od Paul Anke ...

The Armenian Navy Band are led by Arto Tunçboyaciyan : a percussionist, vocalist and composer of Armenian descent, who grew up in Turkey and is now based in the US. His music is founded on Armenian and Anatolian musical traditions and infused with jazz and contemporary culture to produce what Arto calls "avant-garde folk". The band have received international critical acclaim, have toured extensively and their 2002 “New Apricot” album was released on EmArcy through Universal in the UK. The Armenian Navy Band is composed of 12 of the finest Armenian contemporary musicians, and the instruments include the traditional—duduk, zurna, kemanche, kanun—and the contemporary—trombone, alto sax, tenor, soprano sax, trumpet, bass, drums, keyboard and piano. The “Sound of Our Life - Part One: Natural Seed” is a nearly 50-minute-long composition in eleven parts, which is dedicated to nature.
Hypnotic jazz-tinged rhythms. Cleverly balanced between the contemplative and melancholic and bursts of the region's wild, break-neck dance music. Think if it as an Armenian equivalent of Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring or Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain, for Tuncboyaciyan's vision really belongs in such inspired company.

The lush Moroccan Spirit emphasizes music's meditative qualities, but this imaginative mix of traditional and modern also works on a less contemplative level. "Jim I Nim" and "La Mamounia" crackle with the vitality of traditional Moroccan dance music, but could easily work at hip world-music-friendly nightclubs. Mellow highlights include the somber "Music for 1001 Nights: Outro" and "Moroccan Soul," which is propelled by soulful women singers. The album's not as challenging as the more radical hybrids using North African music, but Moroccan Spirit is far more than mere background noise.

Majid Bekkas
African Gnawa Blues

Majid Bekkas was raised in a Gnawa family in Salé, on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. where he began playing the guimbri in healing ceremonies. Inspired by the traditional-pop fusion of the group Nass El Ghiwane in the '70s, he began to branch out, and never stopped. Playing guitar and guimbri and singing in a variety of styles, he has worked with popular, jazz and experimental musicians. Fours years ago he emerged as a talent in his own right.
His albums African Gnaoua Blues (Igloo, 2001) and Mogador (Igloo, 2004) show links both to the American bluesman John Lee Hooker and the Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré. Bekkas is fascinated by the similarities between Gnawa and blues, both musical genres created by African slaves in a foreign cultural context. When an African musician hears black music from America, he notices kinship. He can play the same tune, but with a different feeling. A transcultural discharge occurs, soft blue notes cascading like summer lightning.
Resembling American blues, also Bekkas's songs have the power of personal statement. On stage, he switches guitar with the traditional Gnawa guimbri. A wooden flute and percussion complete very intimate soundscape. If you are looking for Taj Mahal with African charm, meet Majid Bekkas.

Manu Dibango: African Pop Session + Aphrodite Shake
From African Voodoo (PSI, 1972)


African Voodoo is basically a library-style record of instrumentals done by Manu Dibango of "Soul Makossa" fame and it is, I'd say with some confidence, his funkiest work, by far. "African Pop Session" is some dark, blaxploitation score for midnight stalkers while "Aphrodite Shake" drops a nice, smoky Afro-Latin groove - dig how they pan the congas and drum kit in separate channels.
