U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States does not mind Ukraine using Western weapons to return the territories where Russia organized pseudo-referendums. Blinken answered media questions about whether the United States would agree to the use of American weapons by Ukrainian troops in the territories where Russia conducted pseudo-referendums, regardless of what result the Kremlin announces.

"We and many other countries have already been very clear: we do not recognize and, in fact, we will never recognize the annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia... Ukraine has the absolute right to defend itself throughout its territory, in particular, to regain the territories that were illegally seized by Russia in one way or another," Blinken said.
According to him, the weapons provided by the United States and many other countries to Ukraine were very effectively used to return the territories - in particular, recently in the northeast, but also in the south. Blinken stressed that pseudo-referendums do not change anything for the Ukrainian territories seized by Russia.
"Ukrainians will continue to do what they need to do to return the land that was taken away from them. We will continue to support them in these efforts," the US Secretary of State said.
