For whom is HADEN S.A. buying?
Trade in Bosnalijek shares yesterday was the largest transaction on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE). According to the data, yesterday 15 transactions of 52,988 shares in total value of 688,847 KM - an average price of 13 KM - were completed. Just for that day the FBiH Securities Registry will show whether the buyer is again the still-mysterious Luxembourg firm HADEN S.A., which in recent days became the second-largest shareholder in Bosnalijek d.d.
Second place
According to yesterday's status on the Securities Registry, HADEN S.A. owns approximately 10 percent of shares in Bosnalijek d.d. The company still does not know any details about HADEN S.A.
"We have nothing to show who these people are, who HADEN S.A. is. The firm never had any contact with Bosnalijek. We hope that they made this purchase with good intentions and that in the near future we will have the opportunity to meet with them," Bosnalijek's PR chief Zinaida Babovic said.
An amateur Web-search for the company HADEN S.A. led us to the Luxembourg registry of commercial entities, which states that the firm was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Luxembourg, that at the end of August it submitted an operations report for 2011, and that in April there was actualized data in the registry. A German data researcher is also recognized as a firm in Luxembourg, but at a different address, and states that it works, inter alia, in management activities in holding companies. Other data about HADEN S.A. is locked. The newest issue of Slobodna Bosna connects stock exchange transactions of Bosnalijek shares with the previously-mentioned in the media Nedim Uzunovic, Bosnalijek's representative in Russia and otherwise acquaintance of FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Niksic. SB claims that behind the fresh and sudden purchases of Bosnalijek shares is in fact the Russian firm Potek, one of the most important early partners of Bosnalijek in Russia.
Funds selling
According to unofficial data, after the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank, sold on SASE its package of shares in Bosnalijek of 8.37 percent of ownership, funds are also selling. However, it is illogical to people close to the stock exchange that someone would invest millions in buying shares of the company without prior business analysis or a visit to the company, as it seems HADEN S.A. has. Unofficial estimates are that the share of the Luxembourg firm is still growing, and that it will sell Bosnalijek's shares for 15 KM each. Still the largest single stake in Bosnalijek is held by the FBiH government with 19.24 percent of shares, and the third is a Libyan government fund of 8.78 percent. Slobodna Bosna says that the chief of BiH diplomacy these days at the UN is lobbying the Libyans to support the FBiH government in taking a leading role in Bosnalijek.
